It takes time to adjust to both the here and there. Wherever here is, and wherever there is. On a recent journey across the seas, I found myself wondering, at times, where my place was in a very large environment known as earth. From the hustle and way to much bustle of London, to the…

Devised and choreographed by Rochelle Carmichael of Liquid Skin

Co-Directed and Filmed by Justin Batchelor of BATCHEDIT.

Based upon the dying swan, Plucked is an intimate reflection on life experienced before death. A woman chooses her last outfit. As we sift through her wardrobe we experience a sometimes painful and disturbing, sometimes funny and affectionate echo of a life lived.

This is the first major collaboration between Liquid Skin and BATCHEDIT. The resulting work will be presented in live theatrical and film formats, enabling a wider audience to see the work.

They are large downloads (about 120mb each) so please endure or click HD off. But remember, it’s a film, not viral videos of cats.

Very Exiting news to announce!

LiquidSkin and BATCHEDIT are joining forces to create a film/theatre piece called Plucked. Rochelle Carmichael is leading the way with her skills as a director and choreographer. BATCHEDIT (Justin Batchelor) is taking the reigns as a co-director and cameraman. This is a big undertaking, with the possibility of a near hour long to feature length film being created. After which the material will be incorporated into a theatre event.

But first up, it’s an Open Studio preview as part of the DANCE MASSIVE event.

Simmone Duckmanton …..it took too long.We got around to shooting these two shorts eventually. On my part, life got in the way, on her part persistence paid off.

Like always, we had never met before and by the end of the afternoon, I was very pleased that we were brought together. Enjoy the work of a very talented young gal.

Thanks to Peter Stratford and Robin Brown for coming to the party.

Ella just wanted the one wee little short. So I threw her into the fire with some drama. And she did nail it. Crying on cue ain’t easy, and she got herself there.

Joanne Booth, what a doll. We had a little fun and some sad times making these two shorts over a weekend. A little bit of trial and error on my part as well but the results are pretty good. And she seems to be stoked! Which is always a good result.

Samara Hersch led a brilliant team to put together NOA at La Mama at the end of 2012. Filming took place over two separate nights and then a sit down interview to complete the process.

Samara hopes to be able to tour the show into the future.

A is for Atlas is hitting the Pozible route and the work has begun for what will be a brilliant video, combined with a talented team, a grand vision and a bit of play on the beaches of Port Melbourne.
