Sarah Walker is a standout photographer in the Melbourne Independent Arts Scene. Her striking visuals in both promotion and behind the scenes has garnered her much work and praise.

On the side, she has a number of personal projects on the go, including CLUTCH. The project had simple beginnings and grew to amass a large following on Facebook and through the arts scene in general. Now coming to a close, here she reflects on the project, it’s ups and downs and its impact.

Samara Hersch led a brilliant team to put together NOA at La Mama at the end of 2012. Filming took place over two separate nights and then a sit down interview to complete the process.

Samara hopes to be able to tour the show into the future.

A is for Atlas is hitting the Pozible route and the work has begun for what will be a brilliant video, combined with a talented team, a grand vision and a bit of play on the beaches of Port Melbourne.

What a lovely pair. Mike McEvoy and Rachael Dyson McGregor recently teamed up to create a theatre piece based around Verbatim work. In short, Verbatim is the performance based on the recitation of others words taken from interviews and recordings.

Fascinating stuff and you can follow their progress at THIS WEBSITE

Orphanage of the Animals is a show written and performed by Karen Corbett.

Here she talks on the process of creating this work, its importance and the value of it for the stage. Having performed it a number of times and being a recipient of many awards for the show, she now looks forward to taking it to the next stage with the support of her production team.

I first met Rose whilst filming work for The Faders under the direction of  Rochelle Carmichael.

One thing led to another, and we found ourselves in the Liquid Skin Studios space filming her self-choreographed work for a grant for an overseas submission.

Proof is in the pudding.

The team at Liquid Skin Studios allowed me to step into the room to film some dance, specifically “The Faders” as part of this year’s Melbourne Fringe, 2012. Thanks to Rochelle Carmichael and her team for allowing me to be in the room.

You can see The Faders at the Substation in Newport. Keep an eye out on the Melbourne Fringe Website for details.

Kathryn Beker is a young fashion designer with an eye for the eclectic. She allowed me to enter the room once again to captre her new roll call of 2013 designs. You can see more of her work at www.kathrynbeker.com

These boys have a few tricks up their sleeves, and in their cases, and in their brains! Entertaining kids ain’t easy, but these guys do it with charm and humour and here is the result of playing to two packed houses at the Northcote Town Hall a few weeks back.
